How Seedance 2.5 billing works
Tokens = (input video seconds + output seconds) × width × height × 24 ÷ 1024. Without a video input, BytePlus charges $10.70 per million tokens at 480p and 720p and $11.70 at 1080p. A 720p 16:9 clip is 1280 × 720, which works out to 21,600 tokens per second, or $0.231.
With a video in the input (editing, extending, video references) the rate drops to $6.40 per million ($7.00 at 1080p), but the input seconds are counted too. BytePlus’s own example for a 5-second 720p clip ranges from $1.24 to $4.84 depending on input length.

How the platforms compare
Replicate and Runware match BytePlus at 480p and 720p. Replicate stops at 720p, and Runware charges about 8% more at 1080p ($0.614 vs $0.569). OpenRouter uses the same token rate as BytePlus and also tops out at 720p. fal’s token rate is twice BytePlus’s. WaveSpeed charges a flat $0.18, $0.36 and $0.90 per second with audio on by default.
If you iterate on prompts, render drafts at 480p: it costs less than half of 720p. Seedance 2.5’s draft mode is a 480p preview for the same purpose.
